Last thing i’ll say is the three things for me that make this game perfect: the NPC inter-interactions, the trait system, and the customization. Heroically arrest evildoers while your friend nobly puts out fires in people’s homes, or you can both become skinwalkers that steal people’s jobs, lives and friends. Threaten hobos into giving you money, or become a traveling salesman. Of course you could also always play as a gorilla yourself and find a hypnotizer, then hypnotize a group of gang members to help you stick up a bartender. You can feed them stuff with special effects, and you can equip them with melee weapons, but their fingers are too stubby to carry guns so i prefer hiring thieves to help me break through windows/lockpick stuff. You can tell a room of office workers a joke just to be able to convince one to beat up a cop, and distract them both while you steal a banana to bribe a gorilla (if you have a translator of course, otherwise communication with gorillas is obviously potentially dangerous). You can be anything from a doctor or gangster to a vampire or zombie. Every circumstance around you can change in so many different ways. The independent AI and unique characters really make it feel like you’re in an actual world, although quite cartoony.
STREETS OF ROGUE LOCAL CO OP SIMULATOR
I like to think of this game as an RPG simulator set in city life.

This is my favorite roguelite game ever, if not my favorite video game of all time. Most other games in this genre are really focused on just killing everything you see and then looting to no end. It’s also the only roguelike/rogue-lite where you can befriend or antagonize any NPC in the game in so many different ways. Like no duh we'd want people to experience this game.Īll my hyperactivity aside, it's definitely an experience worth having. I'm parroting the same points as everyone else, but that's par for the course right? I mean this IS the sub for it, so this is basically fan boy central. Do you wanna not be able to see around corners, have infinite ammo, and make everyone look like a gorilla?!? We got that. Wanna play the game in 1.3x speed? We got that. Wanna have a zombie apocalypse? We've got that. Then there's the modifiers, which I don't mess around with much, but they're still amazing. It feels like a different game with every character, because your strategies and mindset changes drastically. Then you have the absolute bonkers ones, like Investment Banker, Alien, and Robot. You've got the slightly weirder ones like Zombie, Vampire, Werewolf, etc. You've got stereotypical classes like Thief, Soldier, Doctor, etc. They really put the role playing in role playing elements. The characters are my favorite part personally. There's also a second one in production at the moment It is really well designed and I personally got 200 h on it so far. You can play coop with 3 other person, online or splitscreen. It's a roguelike since you go through procedurally generated maps and you lost progress on your character on death (perma-death) It's an action stealth shooter brawler game since you can decide how you tackle challenges and the different classes will make you play differently. It's an RPG since you control and level a character with unique traits and perks. To answer your question directly, let's go through everything It's basically a roguelike GTA which is pretty insane, imo.

The solutions to those missions are completely open: steal a key, bribe the guards, kill everybody, release prisoners, hack the turrets, put cyanide fumes in the vents, etc. Basically, you select a character (around 20 different ones, I think) and you then have to go through a city while doing missions.
